A couple of quick questions answered about Promo Codes:
Can I add multiple customers to the same exclusive redemption code?
No, currently according to the rules set by our provider (Stripe) you're only allowed to specify one user at a time tied to the redemption of that code. If you want to give multiple users a specific code, then you will have to create multiple codes.
Do I need to have an expiration date on a redemption code?
No, the expiration date is not required for you to have on the promotion or the code
Do my codes need to be unique?
Yes, each code must be unique.
Can I make a code as inactive?
Yes, you can make a code inactive. By marking the code inactive, it cannot be used in the checkout experience - this would have an immediate effect when applied so be sure that you really don't want that code to be inactive.
How many codes can I have tied to a promotion?
There is no limit to the number of codes that you can have tied to a promotion - each code must however be unique.
Do you have an auto-generator to make codes?
No, currently we do not have a generator to make your codes. You are more than welcome to use a Google Sheet (Spreadsheet) or another platform to help generate random codes if you're looking to create a unique code program. Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager to help brainstorm an effective program!
Can a code be applied to multiple months in a row?Yes, you can create 'repeating' and 'forever' coupon codes. If you select a 'repeating' coupon, you will have to specify the number of months ('duration in months') it will repeat for.
NOTE: this has nothing to do with billing cycle.
For example: If you have a yearly plan at $100 / yr and use a 'repeating' for 6 months coupon at 10% off, you will only receive that 10% off once on the first invoice for $90. However, if you have a 'repeating' for 18 months coupon at 10% off, you will receive that discount twice. Once for the first invoice and again once the billing cycle hits at the one-year mark, since it's within the duration of 18 months.
What can I edit on the promotion after it's been created?
After it's creation, you can only edit the NAME that appears on the invoice sent to the user. If you would like to make any additional changes, you'll have to delete this promotion and start a new one!
Are my promo codes available for immediate use?
Yes, after creation a promo code can be used immediately.
